Class Environmental Assessment Process

All three sections of this study are being carried out in accordance with the approved environmental planning process for Group ‘B’ projects under the MTO Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000) and will be documented in three separate Transportation Environmental Study Reports (TESRs).

Upon completion of preliminary design for each section, a TESR will be prepared and filed for a 30-day public review period in accordance with Class EA requirements. At that time, a Notice of Completion will be published in local newspapers and posted on this website to explain the review process and identify locations where the TESR can be reviewed.

Steps: 1)  Study re-Commencement (November 2018)
2) Review existing conditions
3) Identify design alternatives
4) Seek and review comments on proposed alternatives
5) Evaluate alternatives and identify recommended plan
6) Assess environment effects and develop mitigation strategies
7) Seek and review comments on Recommended Plan
8) Finalize Recommended Plan and prepare EA documentation (Transportation Evnironmental Study Report [TESR])
9) Submit TESR for a 30-day Review Period
10) Class EA Process completed, Detail Design can begin

Section 2 we are at step 4.
Future consultation and engagement sessions will be scheduled for Section 3. Notifications will be advertised in advance.
